As AFCON has resumed, some of Mikel Arteta's boys have also gone to represent their various Africa country creating vacuum in some positions. Arsenal Head coach has said that the club needs to sign a striker and the preferred choice is Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic, he has been their major priority for this January transfer, they also have Interest in Dominic Calvert-lewin but their chances has seen remote.
Arsenal has quoted a minimum £58m transfer fee for the Serbia international, while Vlahovic will command a £160,000 per week after tax in wages over a 5 year contract which equate to just £300,000 per week. Different sources has insisted that money isn't the only factor for Vlahovic to make a move, his camp also with the player determined to play top level European football which Arsenal can offer this season. Vlahovic has  23 goals in 28 senior appearances for both Fiorentina and Serbia this season. Well Fiorentina are now reluctant to sell Vlahovic so as not to receive backlash from fans who were annoyed after the club sold Federico chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi.

Arteta is determined to strengthen his club this month. The manager who is also interested in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo to replace Thomas partey who went for the African's cup of nation (AFCON). Melo who hasn't enough playing time after joing Juventus in 2020 from Barcelona and has only featured 11 times this season, his move will be a loan and has been discussed but the Gunners are yet to make contact with the serial A club about any deal. Vlahovic is Arsenal priority target this transfer season.
